  Here's my trip report:
  13 sites visited:

  • PART Westford MA (EMA)
  • NVARC Pepperell MA (EMA)
  • FARA Framingham MA (EMA)
  • In Western Mass (WMA), VT, and NH sections:
    • WECT Worcester MA (Class 6F - Worcester Emergency Communications Team, WE1CT)
      • here I had a brief conversation and did a photo op with State Senator McGovern. also met the regional Emergency Management Director (also a ham). also bumped into Bill Vodisch
        nice emergency operations center
    • Fitchburg/Leominster Princeton MA
      this was on top of Mt. Wachusett. There were two weddings going on on the windy summit as well
    • CMARA Spencer MA
      nice site, high up
    • QVARC Warner, MA (WMA)
      4 guys, 3 radios, and a grill full of steaks (which were all gone by the time I arrived) Dined on corn on the cob (not native) and Polish sausages
    • HCRA/ Mt. Tom Granby MA
      big and impressive. Nice dessert
    • RANV Williston, VT (VT)
      arrived here ar 12:30 AM and slept in the back of my station wagon
    • GMWS Rutland VT
      missed Deb
    • Twin State ARA Meriden NH
      had a great chat with Bill Burden. One of the guys, Dave, there coined the phrase "amateur radio is the Swiss army knife of communications", and got quoted in a great article in the local paper.
    • Contoocook Valley CVRC Henniker, NH
      good sized setup
    • Bypassed perenial Nashua ARC Nashua, NH (N1NH / N1FD)
  • Mitre/BARS Bedford, MA MA (EMA)
    all my buddies

    Made 23 Q's, and logged Q's while in 4 different sections
    Logged 667 Miles. The new chariot (1998 Volvo T5 Wagon) is super comfortable!

  • I [began] my trek at Falmouth; then, on to SEMARA, then hop over to Bristol County/Fall River, followed by Sturdy, then Norwood, Framingham, and Wellesley Satuday.
    The following day, Norwood ARC, Boston ARC, Mystic Valley, and MITRE/BARS. [then], up to PART.

  • I'm going to try and do a reverse loop starting with Norwood ARC, [over to] Capeway /Marconi, then down Rte. 24 to Whitman ARC, continuing down Rte. 24 to Rte. 140 to SEMARA. From there, head West on Rte 195 to Rte. 24 to the Bristol County Repeater/Fall River ARC site and then on to Sturdy's site in time for Chef Bill's (WB1DJM) Steak Dinner!
  • I followed my route as planned; Norwood, Capeway , Whitman, SEMARA(*), Fall River and Sturdy.
    For the most part, everyone seemed happy to see an ARRL Official at their site. There was an empty site when I arrived at SEMARA, though. I don't know where everyone went but the site was deserted... unfortunate, because that was the longest point from home for me. Hospitality was abounding which was nice because this was my first time touring so I wasn't sure what to expect. My wife joined me for the drive so that helped too. Photos, I'll probably send to Phil for his site/page... Sturdy's pages will be updated within a week or so. I still have pictures coming in from other members. Thanks for doing another great job with the Field Day page, by the way! Maybe see you at Boxboro?

  • My plans... include touring all Essex County sites (QRA, NSRA and CAARA), BARC, Framingham ARA, and Sturdy on Saturday. I am thinking of overnighting at the Falmouth ARA site and stopping at SEMARA and Whitman on Sunday morning on the way home. This should dovetail nicely with Phil's plans this year. Plus Genesis/Plymouth. [subject to revision]
  • Regrettably, I will not have time to get to the NACK site this year :-)

  • On Saturday Mystic Valley ARG @ Tufts and Capeway @ Wompatuck State Park, Hingham/Norwell

  • On Sunday, starting from Boston ARC, to Genesis/Plymouth.

  • Operating with Barnstable folks overnight at Falmouth ARA @ BCFG
• Steve Schwarm W3EVE DEC-Norfolk & No.Bristol
  • I will do Wellsley and Norwood. I normally go to Sturdy. I will probably go to Mitre, too.
  • I can probably visit others as well.

  • at Police ART of Westford
  • visited Mitre (combined with Billerica) as well as PART.
• Rob Macedo KD1CY DEC-South Coast; SKYWARN Coordiantor
  • I will most likely visit SEMARA [South East Mass ARA] but can't make any guarantees on any other locations though if time and weather work out, I might be able to get to a few sites in Southeast Mass ... while I'm doing the Cancer Walk that I do every year
    that always coincides with Field Day.
  • If we have thunderstorms in the area, I will be going into the "SKYWARN Protection Services" mode during the weekend as the last thing we want is someone getting hurt when they're suppose to be enjoying themselves.
  • On standby for NWS, tracking storms for Field Day alert
